Smithsonian releases album featuring Pamyua.

The National Museum of the American Indian (Smithsonian Institute) have just released a compilation cd “Sounds of Indian Summer” featuring bands performing in Washington D.C. when the museum first opened in 2007.

Introduction to Album

“We’re mostly influenced by our culture, the Inuit life. We mix our music with styles from all over the world”. – Pamyua, 2007.

Native American art today is a reflection of contemporary Native life, and the artists use all of the old and the new tools, materials, and influences available to them to create their works. In this appetite for everything on the aesthetic menu, Native musicians are like artists everywhere. Art, as an expression and reflection of humanity, is never static.
